Trans porblem?
My daughter has a 03 6.0 that when its cool outside in the morning it takes forever to shift out 1st gear, after it warms up its fine. So she toook it to Ford garage and $400 later (new fluid) they say nothing is wrong with it. Any thoughts.It has 100+K on it and she pulls a large horse trailer most of the time.

totally normal. Mine does the same thing every morning. These trucks perform best when they are warmed up. The tranny fluid is cold so it takes the trans a little longer to push the cold semi viscous fluid through the trans and build pressure to shift from gear to gear. Now if it happens when it is warm there could be a problem, but that dosen't seem to be the case the way you explain.
