Thanks Ken!

Ken,

Thanks a lot for all your time and energy in continually improving and making this site the best. I have just one small request though, could you please also include the 430 engine in the conference title for the MEL engines. I know these are the forgotten ones but I’m sure a few of us enthusiasts would like some recognition for this old engine, remember Hot Rod Lincoln? Thanks again!

Barry

MEL = Mercury/Edsel/Lincoln

These were not true performance engines but in stock form would put down tons of low-speed torque. Aftermarket intake and exhaust would liven up these torque monsters. They had combustion chambers in the pistons just like the "W mystery engine" 409's.

OK the first car I had to drive was a 67 Lincoln Continental. I assumed when I had it that it was a 460. A cousin of mine has a 67 convertible and informed me recently that no... the 460 didn't appear till 68 and that the 67 had a 462, and that only 66,67 Lincolns had the 462. I've been curious about this motor ever since. Are they a Y block design like FE's How are they unique?
