I have just one small request though, could you please also include the 430 engine in the conference title for the MEL engines. I know these are the forgotten ones but I’m sure a few of us enthusiasts would like some recognition for this old engine, remember Hot Rod Lincoln? Thanks again!
These were not true performance engines but in stock form would put down tons of low-speed torque. Aftermarket intake and exhaust would liven up these torque monsters. They had combustion chambers in the pistons just like the "W mystery engine" 409's.
OK the first car I had to drive was a 67 Lincoln Continental. I assumed when I had it that it was a 460. A cousin of mine has a 67 convertible and informed me recently that no... the 460 didn't appear till 68 and that the 67 had a 462, and that only 66,67 Lincolns had the 462. I've been curious about this motor ever since. Are they a Y block design like FE's How are they unique?
