alrighty guys, I'd look @ my Chiltons, but I'm halfway through unpacking, and it's still at the bottom of a box somewhere.
I'm changing the spark plugs on my 2.5L 4 cyl, and it looks like I have to remove the exhaust manifold to get to the 2/3/4 drivers side plugs. Is that the case. Just want to check before I make this harder than I have to. thanks!
Matt
do not always follow chiltons manual. i have usually found on the 2.5's is to use a swivel adapter and a long extension. i just did one today. i would rather change the plugs the a serp belt on these trucks any day.
It is much easier if you remove the upper intake manifold so you can get at the left side plugs without pulling the plug wires apart. The exhaust manifold is okay. If you have any miles the intake could probably used cleaned anyways.
Just use a long 3/8" drive extension and a swivel joint. You don't have to remove anything but sparkplug wires. (Not easy to put back on, but you can do it.)
Took me about 2 hours to change the wires too. Also a challenge!
