head units

hey all, im looking to get a new head unit, my last one got stolen out of the dash, i have narrowed it down to several, im thinking maybe some people on here have them or know something about the units im lookin at, basically i need pre amp outs for my system, i right now have 2 tweeters, 4 midrange components, and 2 10 inch woofers, so i need channels for all that, plus a good eq for the whole thing, a detachable face for security would be nice too, since now that i got a unit stolen ill actually use that feature, and an ipod hook up and an easy ipod integration, since i have no cds, only have music on the iPod, these are my choices...
1. the Dual XDVD8182
http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...roductID=17172
2. the Jensen VM9412
http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...roductID=18430
3. the Alpine iDA-X001
http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...roductID=18392 (this one is not in dash video like the others are, but it is specifically designed for the integration of hte iPod into your stereo, it doesnt even have a cd player, which is good cuz i have no cds!)
so if anybody has any opinions or has one or whatever, let me know
thanks guys

I wouldn't go anywhere near Dual or Jensen personally. I haven't had any experience with that model Alpine, but their stuff is usually pretty good.

Yeah leave the dual and jensen alone. The alpine is awesome for someone like you because it doesnt even have a CD player. And it has three outputs for all your amps. Alpine all the way.

might be sweet to "say" you have an in dash screen, but when it's a crap quality screen you'll wish you went with the alpine. the alpine also will have much better sound.

Yeah it is so sweet to have a indash screen until your tearing it out to return it. I work at Best Buy and deal with dual returns all the time. I cant speak for jensen but they are the same company as audiovox and I havent seen much good out of them lately. If you want a screen, by all means get one, just save up the money and get a good one.

If you really want in dash DVD I would save up your money and get one of these three.

well, since i am young and have no experience, im gunna go with what you guys are sayin, cuz you definetly sound like you have quality experiences, i prolly will go with the alpine, cuz in all reality, how often do you watch DVDs in your truck? and if you do you need to be stopped, and if im stopped, im usually at home or where im heading, so i can just go inside and watch it on a tv with surround, so i think the alpine is what im gunna go with..so if you work at at best buy 69ExplorerDude...can you get me a deal on the alpine one? haha

The alpine is great especially with there ease of attaching a Ipod. I have a IVA-D100 and love the full speed Ipod, it's great. Stay FAR and I mean FAR away from Jensen or dual. If you want a good quality DVD look at spending a $1000+

nice, luckily, this headunit is only costing me 100 bucks installed, cuz my insurance is covering all but my deductible, which is the 100 bucks, and they are coming to my house to install it in my driveway, how awesome is that!!
