I done a disk brake conv. on my 65 ford f-100 and when I went to hook up my linkage to my spindles one side fit fine(other than grinding a 1/8 off to allow for the carter key to fit properly) the other side I could not get the tie rod end up throught the spindle. Will I have to take something loose.?[/QUOTE

Depending on the linkage (65, or the donor truck?) you may have to adjust the tie rods in or out to reach the spindle. I don't remember having to do this on mine, just that the alignment was way, way off when I was done bolting it together.
Tie rods, tie rod ends, and draglinks have ball studs, not ball joints. Ball joints are a different part entirely, and weren't used on 2WD trucks till the 1980's.
