any suggestions guys...when it rains hard I have been getting a damp floormat...not a puddle by any means...it's not the windshield, but its as if it comes downon the wrong side of the firewall?!?!?! not a bad grommet or anything as the truck doesn't have to be moving...maybe the cowl box?
TIA guys
Are you absolutely sure it isn't the windshield? You can't really see the lower edge without removing the dash. If it's coming in without moving I can't think of what else it might be. Do you have cab lights or a sunroof? Have you pulled the A pillar covers off?
I have leak checked so many vehicles in the auto glass business. Leaks can come from so many places. Its a real pain in the butt! Roof racks, visors, sunroof drains, body seams, fresh air intakes, grommets, firewall holes of all sorts, door seals, weatherstrips, and of course the glass seal.
If you cant locate it from something obvious... I would pull back the carpet, pull the kick panels, dry it out, then run water over certain small areas and follow the leak from the floor - up.
If you have a air compressor, spray foaming glass cleaner or soapy water around suspected areas on the outside, then blow air at those seals and seams from the inside and watch for the air bubbles. Sound fun?
hey nacho, did you ever figure it out? i just found out that i had one on my 07. it is exactly like you are saying...it actually runs down by the hood release and fuse box. i checked it and if i spray water at the corner of the cowl/window, fender/door area it leaks. i can see where it is coming from sort of but not enough to figure the source. looks as if it is from the inner fender to firewall or above the a/c vent channel.
nah, I still have to mess with it...never found the time yet...

I am also in the auto glass business and i found that if you spray soapy water, or glass cleaner on any suspected area and then put the heater fan on high sometimes it creates enough interior pressure to make your leak start to bubble up.
Water leaks are one of the worst things to locate, good luck and have fun!
I had the same thing with my 02 Excursion and my 99 Expedition. Both were the windshield. The seal cracked just above the Vin # and allowed water to get in. Ruined the GEM on the Expedition but luckily I caught it in time on the Excursion. I just went ahead and busted the windshield on the Excursion with a flat head screwdriver by inserting it between the windshield and the frame above the Vin and pryed up (crack). Insurance payed for a new windshield. No problems since.
I have a small leak down the drivers side pillar. Everytime I wash it, same thing, some small drips, not too much, but not cool. '06 PSD F350, any suggestions. I haven't really taken a closer look, but will on the weekend.

I have never seen it on a F250 or 350, but two of the guys here at work had leaks in their F150's that turned out to be the third brake light. The water runs down the inside around the back window and then runs forward.

Do you have a sunroof in your truck? If you do one of the drain tubes could have come off. If you stop at a glass shop, most places will fix a leak for not much money, if they can find it!
where are the sunroof drain tubes? Mine might be plugged. In mild weather, I'm finding water on the passenger floor mat, and inside glove box. Now that it's winter, I think i can hear ice moving around inside the roof reinforcments (above overhead console, and behind sunroof).
Usually your headliner will get wet if they came loose from the sunroof frame.
Those drain tubes should be coming off of the front corners of the sunroof then going down the pillars. Pull the visors, pillar trim and overhead console so you can drop your headliner down enough to see if the drains are coming loose from the sunroof frame. Check from above with the sunroof open to see where the drain hole(s) are, make sure they arent getting blocked by leaves and dirt. Start there and follow them down.
