I want to purchase a code scanner/reader, one that list the code and the problem and clears it. The OBD II types dont work on Ford Diesel's, or at least not mine, As I understand it! I want a stand alone set up, what do you guys have or have used and recomend!

for just codes, you can use what ever they sell at Autozone, but for real information, your best off going after the Autoengunity ( forgive me if it is spelled wrong) I tried my damnest to find something else for less money, and there was nothing I found. Still dont own one, still dont own the lap top......

 

I have the foxwell elite,, it reads clears and trouble shoots, also has live data and freeze frames will read any and all modules and does a drivability test and it comes with a flash drive and a SD card.. in a case with old 2 connections will read obd1 2 and 3 plus you can buy the connections for other vehicles and foxwell supplies upgrades for free for life
