Does anyone know what kind of heads would be a good performance upgrade to a 351w and keep it a daily driver? Assuming that you plan to upgrade the carb, exhaust system, cam, etc. Would simply polishing the stock heads and using new springs, lifters, etc. provide a significant increase in performance (just something noticable off road and towing) or do you need more radical modifications?
Any advice/input/experiences woudl be appreciated.

If your going to do ALL the above then I would say don't waste your money unless you increase your valve sizes and open up the exhaust side of the head. Your best bet would be to probably purchase a set of "World Performance" cast iron heads for around $800. a set. They are advertized as good for up to 100 HP increase.
Would simply

I would say "no" to "significant". But if you stay with a small vacuum operated secondary carb (600-650 CFM) and a "small" cam change (195-204 duration @ .050) your stock heads will be fine.

Hit the swap meets and find a set of iron GT-40 heads. there's lots of them out there as people have switched their Mustangs over to aluminum. Look for 3 lines on the end of the casting. If you pay $600 you'll pay too much.
