Hi anyone know why everyday I jump into my 1998 explorer 4x4 sport and something new is wrong? I got in one day and my compass/temperature gauge attatched to the windshield was off. Next day the cruise control light is off(cruise works). Then the lights on my side view mirrors. And finally last night was my dash lights. This is driving me nuts! Anyone know anything about this? It is hard to believe it is a simple fuse but then again it's possible
Any help is very welcome
Thanx Heather

When the lights go out, do they ever come back on?

well, it is an almost 10 year old vehicle is part of the problem, things are starting to wear out.

think i would start looking at the battery cables and the battery itself if it is ove 4 - 5 years old,

could be a random short from a bad ground.

Also you might want to check the fuse block. I had about the same happen, I pulled all the fuses, sprayed with plastic safe contact cleaner [it must be plastic safe!!!!!!!!] then pulled and cleaned all electrical grounds, body and engine and it solved my problem. It took about 3-31/2hrs to clean and replace. Corrosion can be rough on grounds, as I replaced grounds I coated them in anti-seize. Just my .02 worth.

No the only one that has come back on was the cruise control light. All the rest have stayed off since
