Posted this in the wrong section, so this is a re-post, but still need help~
My old Ranger (1991) won't start after sitting for 5 days without being turned over. I tried jumping the battery with no results. I don't even get a "click" when I turn the key. The fuses and everything look okay.
I think it prolly a dead short in the battery. Replace the battery. After setting five days and its alreadyt dead and won't take a jump. Dead short has my vote.
Sounds simple enough, but have you checked for corrosion on the terminals and the condition of the wires? Just a thought. I have seen plenty of times where too much build-up will cause a total loss of power.
On a side note - your user name is funny to me since I used to know a Jill that was crazy about Rangers. Evan named her cat Ranger.
Just a thought, I didn't see weather it was an auto or standard trans, It could also be clutch safety switch or nuetral safety switch!
If it's an auto try putting it in nuetral position and give it a try, if it's a standard check the switch on the clutch pedal to make sure it's working.
