That high up, they'd reach 2,500mph in around 2 minutes after falling about 50 miles. If they jumped from 150 miles up, their drag shoot would open at around 100 miles up where the air is probably still thin enough to keep them from getting too hot.
How do they overcome the lack of gravity up there? I always thought that if you were that high up there wasn't any gravity and if you stepped out of whatever you were in you would just float away not drop to the ground like a rock going 2500MPH!!!!! BTW this has already been partly done as was stated in the comments on the other page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_Excelsior , the guy who did those jumps has to be one of the bravest souls to ever live. But knowing that its possible, I'd try it.
