If you ain't in a real big hurry, you should watch EBAY for a pair of Edelbrock or other aluminum heads. You can pick up a pretty good bargain there at times. I wish I had thought of that and maybe saved a few bucks.

Hi Danny,
When you converted from the I6 what did you have to change? The wiring harness? how did it all match up? did you do away with the computer and what not?
I am look for a set of earlier heads like the 69 or 70's I dont want to go into aluminum just yet. Also what about adding some CJ heads off a 429?

When I did my swap to a 351W and carb, I just isolated the few wires I needed from the 1" thick wiring harness and clipped off the remainder. It was a big job going from the EFI I6 to a carbed 351W-had to change just about everything but the bellhousing. I am not an expert on Big Blocks, heck, this is the first Ford I ever owned. I do believe that the Edelbrock heads breathed alot of life into my 351. I drove a 96 F-350 with a 351W in it and it was sick compared to mine.

Just wanted to say be carefull of what you buy from "ebay" as there are people selling junk saying its "new" or like "new" i had a friend buy a Deck for his car and when he got it it didnt work turns out it was a deck from the factory that wouldnt work when tested so they through it out "someone" picked it up and others and are selling them to people, oh and he was out his $400 and had to still pay to have the Deck fixed so just be carefull most if not all items have a no return policy

Forget about machined parts from PAW. Go with a good speed shop that will properly setup and grind the crank. I bought a PAW rebuild kit and the rods were not resized properly. I ended up having the bottom end redone by a professional speed shop.
Also, when I was doing the rebuild myself, I asked the shop that was doing the balancing if they could finish off the build and give a warrenty on it, the answer was no. Most good shops won't stand behind someone elses machine work. PAW as fine for ready made parts (intakes, oil pans...) but I would never buy machined parts from them again, the quality was poor.
I'm not the only one that has had this problem with PAW, I only wish I had checked them out before spending all the money.
