Master Cylinder Drained
Has this happened to you? My Bronco is sitting in the driveway and for no reason I can think of, the brake fluid leaks out of the master cylinder where the MC mounts to the brake booster. Now can I repair the cylinder or do I have replace it? Seems like a seal or O-ring should fix it, but will it leak again?

You can rebuild the master cylinder yourself, or you can get a rebuilt one. It is up to you but I think that it is easier getting the rebuilt one. It is the seal on the back of the unit that failed and it is not unusual for it to fail after a number of years. If it is new and failed, then it is a problem.

if you rebuild it yourself, you should get a small brake cylinder hone. It will clean up the flat spots in the master cylinder so that the seal will stay in, but it also increases the bore slightly depending on how flat the spots are in the bore.
