Introduction....

This is my first post on this forum. I have just acquired a 64 [I think] E-100 ECONOLINE pick-up, found out in the desert of Az. The doors have been changed out as the reg tag does not apply to the body. I just can't find any information on the internet or in book form [other then small insignificant booklets on ebay]. I bought a repair manual off of ebay buy it does not refer to frame or dimentions of the frame or body...wheelbase etc. Any reading suggestions? Esp. interested in engine swapping. Has 200ci 6 installed now...looking for 289 or 302 with c-4 transmission. I would even consider a 300ci 6, I have read that engine is very durable and has guts. I don't suppose there are any articles floating about for this conversion.....R THERE? This is my 2nd project, so it is taking backseat to project no 1 for now, I am grathering parts and throwing them in the bed until I am in a position to work awhile on this truck. Can't wait til I have a running truck as these are very rare to see on the street, fun to drive and I am growing ever fond of them daily......any information to pass this way or on this forum will be appreciated....and printed! Paul Bowsher [rockingb] Prescott, Az.

Hello Paul and Welcome!

You are at the right site to find information on your Ford. I would suggest using the tech forums and posting your question in the forum for your E-100. Several other forums may be helpful to you so check them out. To see them just click on the Forums tab at the upper left and look over the list. Your state chapter may have a lead or two for you also: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/forum80/

THANK YOU for the welcome post....I have met a fellow up in R.I. that has been giving freely of his knowledge, and also a lead or two on some junk yard adoptees in the Phoenix area, which I will go by and see when I get home. My little truck grows on me each day and can't wait to get it running. Can't decide weither to go with a 300 ci or the 289/302 v/8. some say the 6 is a better choice for gas milege and torque for hauling and then other say the 289/302 is alott more fun....I wounder which is the more difficult to graft into the small little box area. I was told to find a car [mid to late 60's] and get the engine, transmission and diff. out of the same car just to make sure everything mates up. but I will need a new radiator for the v/8 or bigger 6 cyl. any suggestions and any modifications to the radiator framework needed to instal said radiator?...[SO MANY QUESTIONS, SUCH A PEST] BUT we all started out at the same square.
I do not have a tailgate and will need one, also a 9" ford will go under the frame as I have several pumkins for them already, and then just small parts to remake the inside. The truck does not have any windows on the corner of the cab, only the back window and the two side windows...does that narrow the year of manufactor down?
In the next two weeks I will be moving to michigan for the winter and will have to leave my truck behind, maybe I will find some trucks waiting for me in the outback of detroit and I can send them home to Az for spring return.....
