Temperature Gauge

Today I was sittin' in a wiendy's drive thru gettin' something to eat for my mom and was gonna take it to her at work. This isn't really a big deal, but while sitting there my temperature gauge started to rise at wut i consider normal, now heres wut bothers me up until today the gauge didnt really work, it would barely get off of cold on a good day. Is this something I should be alarmed of? The truck didnt smell like it was running hot or anything. Is it just coincidence or just because its an old truck. For those that dont kno it's a 1992 for f-250 wihtt he 460.

wut wut weight oil should i use?

Also wut weight oil should i use? I'm currently running 20w-50 with a motorcraft oil filter. I chose Motorcraft becuz of them being factory installed and used to be owned by Ford.

Ford's gauges are known to be less than accurate. You're just guessing at the problem until you put a real gauge on the engine.

You could have a bad sender, bad gauge, bad fan clutch (was the AC on?) or the thermostat could be stuck open, making your engine run too cold.

No the AC was not on (Cant afford to run it) So do I need to put an aftermarket gauge on it? How hard is it to put it on? I can get it at the autoparts store I know, but im only 17 and have little to no mechanical experience so even moderate things are a little hard, other than an oil change.
