Code 1506 AIC control
Got a code 1506 for the AIC valve. Truck runs rough at idle and dies at times at stop signs. Cleaned valve with no change.
Question: Do I need to buy new ford part............or is one from Napa, Advanced, Autozone, Checker good enough?

Don't know what engine you have but NAPA and autozone should both have aic valves for Ranger trucks. I don't know why you'd have to go to the stealership. Check www.napaonline.com or www.partsamerica.com [autozone's online parts catalog].

Bought one from Advanced for $45.00. At first no change, but after warmed I unplugged the MAF sensor and if idled quiet for 5 seconds then it died. I plugged the MAF in and drove home with out any stalling after that. So that fixed the engine stalling at a full stop. Finally something going right!
