My kids get out at the end of may/first week in June. As I stated before they get two weeks off in October, Christmas and March. They started this last Monday or July 19th
I get out (HS Teacher) the second to last week in May. We have a week off in October and March and two weeks off for Christmas. Yes, we start Aug. 6th
The way that education is going it is going to be year round in about forty years or so.
Someone once said the summer is too hot in the south states for kids to be out of school.
That's why they get out in Our (Canada's) late spring and go back in August.
The schools I have seen are Air conditioned and have open air areas.
Hate to tell ya'll...but our break is almost over. August 6th we're back in school.
i go back the 7th

A while back I was working with a rank horse for someone, and they had their kid there (probably about 12-13) and the whole time I was there the kid was complaining about school, how much he hated it, didn't want to go anymore, stuff like that...After I finished up I was tired, limping from being kicked, soaked with sweat, dirt and blood. I looked at the kid and said "I think you should drop out, a good education is over rated anyway." The kid smiled and the parents got a look pissed look on their face and were getting ready to say something, then I added "I hated school too, didn't try, couldn't wait to be done with it...and look at me now. You could be just like me!" The saw what I was doing and smiled and the kid shut up...Of course what the kid didn't see was how much I got paid for my services...
Edit...I'm not saying someone should/has to go to college to get a good job...but you should at least go to a trade school so you can do something besides factory work.
