I have rino in my F-250 and love it. Its really thick (1/4" at least) and strong. I have line-x on my motorcycle frame (dual sport bike) and its nice, but much thinner - also my friend's new chevy has line-x and its also really thin - more a really tough paint than anything else imho. I would go with line-x if you want to keep the weight down and have a durable finish, Rino if you want more dent protection and something even more durable. Of course it may be possible to ge line-x sprayed on thicker and not all rino coatings may be as thick as mine, but that's all the data I have to go on
Bikepilot, Do you have any issues with sliding things across it, I slide pallets of rocks in mine and did not know if they would tear it. Thanks for the info.
I had line-x on my dodge and the first application was not good and very thin, I took it back after I put construction debris in it about two weeks later and noticed it had a couple of good size gashes were they didn't prep it right the first time. After the second application it was about 1/4 inch thick and I haven't had a problem with it since. I currently have a speedliner in my 2006 dodge and they take a full day to spray it and cure it but it is thick the first time out and hasn't faded in two years and we abuse it daily. Guy's I know I have dodge's but forgive me I also have fords.
Big R I have a 75 Chevy Blazer rock crawler, I have Line-x Sprayed inside and out no kidding. It is corvette orange outside and orange and gray inside. It was sprayed in 99. After 8 years the color has faded a bit on the orange and the gray wants to turn green. This is of course due to AZ direct sun. After I first started to go rock crawling I was in a hole and the blazer fell onto its right rear quarter panel and put a hole in the line-x (2 inch round). The dent was alot less than the other 2 blazers that were right in front of me. They both fell in the exact same spot and lost their bumpers and tail lights I only lost the 2 inch hole. The thickness is a quarter inch thick through out I think it is dependent on the guy who is spraying. Needless to say I really like Line-x and I would recommend it to anybody.
