I have a 1982 f-150 302 with windsor heads... i was wondering if the 351 H.O. or the 5.0L injection from a mustang or lincoln would work? i'm pretty sure it would but not certain.. i need to clear this up before i go offing some cash out to my brother for his 5.0L Injector set up.... plz need info quickly
well, the manifold will certainly fit, but the mustang and lincoln throttle bodies point to the passenger side of the engine bay, which if i am correct is where your battery would be located. but that could easily be remedied with a little ingenuity. and as for the harness, make sure you get a comlete one(and while you're at it get all the sensors you can too), or else it will be a huge headache. painless wiring now offers one, complete for all fuelie 5.0's. i think if you can get the entire system, go for it, you will be happy with the better fuel economy and easier cold starts, etc. good luck and i hope this helps,
mike
sounds good..thanx for the info.. i'm pretty sure i can put the airbox on the fender of the truck...just gonna take some ingenuity there any ideas about that?
What year is the Fuel Injection setup from?
If I remember correctly, the upper intake on the Stangs could be turned around. So the throttle body can be pointed to the other side, if needed. If the unit is off the car, it would be real easy to check.

LX 5.0L i can't exactly remember which it was on my brothers car.. i think it was on the drivers side.but i'm unsure.. i'll go check it once he gets off work or either sometime tomorrow when i go to his work to fix up the truck in question *entire gasket and seal kit!* man i'm gonna love that fuel injection!
The only intake that could be turned 180 degrees is the GT-40 I think. Unless the cobra manifld could be turned also, but I am unsure. I know about the GT-40 because that is what was used on the Lightnings of 93-95 vintage.
