I have a 82 F150, 302, AOD at 110K miles. When it is cold and I accelerate from a stop, it seems to bog down, then shifts hard into the next gear. This only happens when the truck is cold. After driving a handful of miles, it no longer does this.
Anybody have an idea what the problem is? Would it be a simple fix, is it a matter of replacing just a few parts in the trans, or is a trans rebuild in order?
I got Seafoam right off the shelf at Autozone. They make a couple of different products including an oil treatment and transmission treatment. I first learned about it in a different thread in this forum. It's great reputation is well earned.
