Okay well i took my tuner off of my truck in my sig...and yes i put it back to stock...and i put it on my dads 01 super crew with a 5.4l and drove it for about a week with it on the 87 octane tune.... well this weekend i was putting it back to stock so i could put the tuner back on my truck... and while it was programming or what ever my father turned the key in the ignition off when it was about half done....
This totally screwed everything up and i dont know what to do...now evertime i try to hook up the edge to it, it just stays at the main screen telling me to turn the key on but not to start so the edge can reconize the computer... and move on ...well it never goes past that.... and the truck wont start either... so now i have a dead truck...
The edge still works fine on my truck... reconizes it and it will allow me to tune myne but it wont reconize my dads truck...
so we unhooked the battery and tried all that to no avail...
I dont know what to do and i need some advice fast.... i would assume that edge would have some sort of protection for this... its somthing that would be so easy to mess up for anybody and i cant imagine that the computer is dead and will need another factory tune...but i dont know...
Okay who moved this...i already posted in the chips and programers and stuff...but there is many knowlegable people in the 97-03 as well about this kind of stuff...that is why i posted this there as well..
well i got ahold of edge and since i had a PATS system they cant let me d/l the stock tune and install it my self... if i didnt have pats it would be a snap he said...they are currently working on how to get the pats to work...
But since they couldnt they are going to pay me $75 bucks to get it towed to a ford dealer ship and also what ever it cost to get get it reflashed....how about that...my screw up and they pay me for it...not bad since i hauled it myself..and it only cost 15 bucks in fuel probably....
Edge is an amazing company and said they might even try to make me a custom tune for my 5.4l i swapped into my 4.6l... well see... they said it was up to the boss cause it would cost 40 man hours to put all the proper parameters together...

anyways... thanks edge..
They are so full of crap. I can setup a tune for that in SCT's Advantage software in less than an hour, and that PATS issue is an excuse from a company that does not know the control system and how it works.

Well ford cant reprogram a PCM with out both transponder keys and it takes them 45min plus to re program the computer and pats system...i watched them do it... never left the Screw untill they were done...

Ford techs know nothing about the control system, and cannot adjust or change any of the PCM programming except for the PATS stuff for key changes, etc. They're the equivalent of monkeys with a toy that has shiny buttons when it comes to service reflashes and TSB PCM work. They only do what the TSB instructions tell them to do,and cannot make any changes to any parameters in the software. I'm not a bit suprised that they took that long.

This weekend I returned my program to stock before doing some work on the truck. Once I finished working on the truck, I went to start it and everything seemed normal as all the dash lights and gauges worked but when I turned the key to start, the engine would not turn over? Does anyone know if I have any options other than having my truck towed to the dealer for a re-flash. Any help would be appreciated.
