Stabilizer bar link question

I have an 01 F150 5.4 4x4 with around 82K on it. I replaced the driver's side stabilizer bar link after it sheared in half about 3 months ago. No big deal I guess, 18 dollars and a half hour of my time. Just yesterday I noticed a clunking kid of sound when turning a corners especially with a little bump, like a driveway. Sure enough, I looked under and my passenger side stabilizer bar link is sheared. I have never replaced one on any vehicle let alone 2 of them. Any ideas? I do not baby my truck, but I dont torture it either. I carry tools and moderate loads as I am a contractor, but I dont fly down old logging roads in the woods.

i asssume your talking about the 6 inch long bolt with the tube over it and the rubber bushing at each end. THis attaches the staballizzer bar to the A-frame. i had one break on my 2001 last year. I bought a kit and did both. they were rusted very thin and ready to fail. like you , i am use to these lasting for 10-15 years. Didnt think much about it since it cost $20 and only takes an hour.

They are pretty common breaks on these trucks. One of mine broke, so I just took both of the links off and shoved the sway bar upwards out of the way.

All in all, I really dont think the sway bar helped at all. I've never noticed any body roll, and I live in the mountains with more than enough curvy roads...

Mine only broke after I went to 33" tires, I went with NAPA's kit and it is far superior to that crappy Ford design with the molded plastic that makes it a huge PITA to remove the broken bolt.
