Does anyone have any experience with the BAKFLIP Cover. I wish to install this on a 2008 F-250 Short Bed with step. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I just installed a BakFlip last week on my 06 F-250, PSD,SB. The quality is exceptional and it took about 20 minutes to install. One of the reasons I chose this cover is that it fits flush with the bed sides and allowed me to keep my bed rails. I would highly recommend this cover.
I played with one and got the two hour speal from the owner in atlanta. It's a nice cover, but one of my reps told me some are having troubles with them. Of course he sells mostly Extang.
they are much improved from the original roll up cover and they don't look like your hiding Ice Cream under it.
There have been LOTS of problems with them. The latest is broken parts and the glue they are currently using is not standing up to the summer heat and they are literally falling apart. Prior problems include warped panels, non-penetrating rivets.
From another forum and recent, like within the last 3 weeks.
I have their roll bak cover and have not been satisfied with it. The powder coat is coming off and fading. It does not drain the water and leaks like crazy. They did send me a replacement curtain and rails for the powder coat so that was a good thing. The bad thing is I have to strip off the housing and move it to the new cover. Live, learn, and move on..... Just my opinion even though it is a different cover from what you are looking at but same mfg.
I agree, I like the concept but looks like they have some flaws. I studied alot of covers before buying and ended up going with the Truxedo Lo Pro. Love it.
I just installed one of their new 2nd generation BakFlips and have to say so far I'm impressed. Installation was easy, the fit and finish is great and it looks super sharp on the truck. I looked at every brand cover i could find out there and this one offered the best match for my needs and budget. As a new customer I' very happy. Of course, if it falls apart like some of the pictures I've seen in other posts, I'll be a lot less satisfied.
I got one of these on our 2005 F250. It has been on there since the beginning and I have never had a problem with it. I'm not sure if it what you are looking for or not though.
The bakflip is ok, I like a new cover on the market called TopDawg by Progear in michigan. It is a 2 panel cover of aluminun and Fiber reenforced panels, Has super seals and is easy to remove if needed.

I also did a lot of looking and decided to get the lo-pro. Had it for a year now and it has been great. No problems.
