ring gear
after unbolting the ring gear how do i seperate it from the differential? idon't want to damage any thing. thank's

I use a dead blow hammer. Even soft face hammers will work, just do your best at getting the thing off straight.

Once all of the ring gear bolts are removed the ring gear can only be removed one direction. If you set the carrier on the its side with the bolt heads facing up, the ring gear can be lightly tapped down and it will break free.

what rear are you working on
have you pulled the carrier out of the housing
