Question Door lock

My driver front door lock has stopped working. I can lock all the doors with both door locks but the driver's door is not working correctly. The keyless entry is working except for that one door. Is this the actuator? If not, what is it, and where can I get one? It will go up and down a little but not all the way.

Had the same problem with my X a coupple of weeks ago it would go up a little but not all the way. Went to ebay and bought a door actuator one from doctor auto parts. The install instructions were in the tech folder in the X fourm.
Hope this helps,
Nick

It should. That's what I was thinking. It did work yesterday afternoon. I will replace it soon. I don't want to have to play the works/doesn't work game with it.

Check the tech link for detail instructions on replacement and repair to the actuator. You might decided to do the $.01 repair vs buying a new one.

The repair was very easy and the locks work better than ever. Had to do all 4 of mine. I used a 1/2" piece of 14 GA copper wire that I hit with a hammer to flatten so it would fit in the "fuse" (resistor) holder. I also used zip ties instead of bolts to put them back together. Cost 3-4 hours and $0. Well worth the effort. Besides, its cool to take this stuff apart to see how it works!

Ah Ha! a new metod to repair.

1) Aluminum foil the thermistor

2) $.01 copper fix

3) 5 # hammer on copper forge new conductor.

4) Buy new actuator

Just goes to show how creative folks can be.
