New Turbo Suggestions
I am taking the Excursion in on Monday to get a check up and hopefully a repair. (04 Ex, 6.0 PS, Intake, 4" Turbo back, mild tune, gauges) She has been running very hot on flat roads with or without the tuner on, up to 1100- 1300 on small hills when pushing on the pedal (not towing).
I am guessing either turbo or injectors, we'll see. She has 85K on her now and I still have an aftermarket 100K warranty. If the warranty company isn't going to be too much of a stickler and insist on the exact same factory parts, I want to upgrade whatever is not working right now.
I was wondering if you guys can suggest a replacement turbo and or injectors that will give me a little better performance over stock. I only tow a 5000lb bass boat sometimes, and don't need to race everything out there. I would love to see some mileage improvements as my EX has never performed well in that arena. Either less turbo lag or much more boost would be good, but just over all better performance is what I'm looking for.
If someone knows what turbo was on the 04's and if they changed in 05/or 06 might be helpful to me as well. I know it's kind of an open ended request, but thanks for any input in advance.

FYI--you have a factory warranty for 5years/100K miles with a $100 deductible. 1100-1300 isn't really that bad with a tuner, especially if it's hot where you are. There is a ton of stuff you can do with the factory parts and turbo to improve your performance/mileage by making some little mods to your vehicle. What kind of intake and tuner do you have? Also, there is a ton of reading on all the questions you asked if you search through the last few pages of posts in this forum that will give you hours of reading.
What kind of bassboat do you have that weighs 5K? Is it your daytime home on water--would be mine--LOL.

I'm sure many of my questions have been asked before, I never seem to get the searches right to find what I'm looking for. I figure the Bassboat with trailer and gas and all the gear gets close to 5K. Part time pro fisherman, part time lure manufacturer.
Intake is airaid, right now i have the hypertech 3stage module on the truck. the egr valve is disconnected.
