Got the cab and bed off the frame on my 49 last night. My birthday is next Sunday and my wife said for my birthday she would pay for my frame to be sandblasted. Now thats a goodwomen!!
Also I found a spot on the front crossmember that is rusted through. It is on the passenger side where the crossmember meets the bottom of the frame rail. Anybody have one they can get rid of or any suggetions on fixing the one that I have? Its not a big hole, about an inch and a half or so long and about an inch wide, but I'm afraid that the surounding metal may be in bad shape (have not looked very close at it yet). Any suggestions?
Post a picture of the rust out if you can, I have a frame from a F-1 I cutting up to go to the scrapper this week. The frame is a rust bucket but the front section is pretty decent. If I have the part you need pay for the shipping and I'll send it to you.
Get it sandblasted first and THEN you will truly see what is rusted and where and just how bad! Nothing like a good sandblasting to really show you whats goin on. Do you have your wife's number? Id like to give it to mine . . . they need to talk. lol
