I was wondering if anyone knew what it most likely cost to get the front fuel pump replaced by a shop or dealer (in other words I'm not doing it) in my truck?
Thanks!
i think the fuel pump will range between 60 - 160, depends on if it comes with the sending unit. i dont know what labor would cost, as i do it myself. hope this helps a little. (mine was 60 for the pump, and 100 for the sending unit.)
Well it depends on the year of the truck.
My 96 has hi presure pumps in the tank vs my 89 with a low psi pump in the tank and a high psi pump on the frame rail.
My 96's front pump die and i got the cheapest pump i could find (darn truck cost me alot with in weeks of buying it) at $90 and 6 hours to put it in. Now i've got problems with it and it has to come back out...............
The pumps ranged from $90 up to $350 at the parts stores.
GET new TANK STRAPS they may look fine but there thin trust me.
I swap these tanks all time 2 hrs to get out and 1 hr to get in on most. You can get part at dealer but Don't have work done there. As the will want to replace everything while in there. Sender ETC. I'd say 6 hrs to cover your but and the pump cost ?? I have a stash of used ones I use. In the rust belt It helps to take down tank to spray oil any way.
