Trouble starting...
OK Guys.....time to impress me with your knowledge.....I have a 72 ford F100 Ranger xlt v8 390. I am having trouble starting the beast. I have taken the starter off and had it check, it's good. I replaced the starter solenoid, and i ahve unhooked the battery and had it check, it's good. When i turn the ignition key it sounds like a buzzing sound or kind of like the sound when you touch the side of the game OPERATION when you are removing a game piece. What am i missing here....

I just went through this and what mine was: the insulation on one of the small wires to the solenoid was ed, and the wire was grounding out on the inner fender. Little tape, and I haven't had the problem since. Same noise you describe.
Might isolate the wires and see if it will start.

It sounds as if there's a bad electrical connection in your starter circut. I would start at the battery, and pull apart every cable, inspect the connections, clean them, and reassemble them. Sooner or later, you'll find your problem.
