help with noise from front end
94 F-250 2wd, 7.3 IDI turbo. Ok, first of all nobody is going to confuse me for a mechanic so this may be a stupid question, but I'm stumped. My truck is making a quiet popping noise from the front end. In fact its not even that, more like a soft "thunk". It doesn't do it all the time, and wheter I turn left, right or go straight it makes no difference. I have crawled under it several times and eveything is tight and looks like it should. All the fittings are nice and greasy and the trucks steers tight and tracks perfect. It isn't more noticeable if I hit a bump, and it seems to do it at all speeds. I might add the truck only has 90K on it. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Check the bushings on your shocks (you may have to take them loose ) Or the shocks them selves . I have had them make same noise on bumps. The stabilizer/sway bar bushing can wear and also can do this .

Does it only happen after you brake then accelerate? Mine did it. I think it was those devices that hold your brake pads in place, I don't know what they are called. They were loose due to age and wear. I've heard this complaint many times on this list. Do a search on this you'll see the most common responses.
