Leaf spring brackets for '51

I am trying to locate the front leaf spring front brackets for my 1951 F1. I have tried several diiferent places (I posted this topic a year ago and got some places to check) and I get the same answer every place I call or look up online - out of stock and backordered for several months and will be for the near future. My question is this, is it possible to use brackets from a different year F1/F100? It seems that, at least according to online catalogs, that every year but 48-51 are in stock or can be ordered. Thanks for any info.

Kerry

48-52 F1s would be the same. I know the F3s had wider front springs and possibly the F2s. I would not be surprised if even 42-47 might be the same...don't know about 53-56.

The front springs are the same width from the F-1 to the F-3. Only the rear got wider.

Does anybody know who might have these brackets? Like I said earlier, every catalog/online source I have talked to have said they are backordered and do not know when, if ever, they will get more in. This is one of the last "pieces of the puzzle" (kind of an important piece too) before I can get a rolling chassis.

If everyone says the parts are on backorder, that means there is only one supplier. Try Hemmings Motor News for another source. Before ebay and the internet, Hemmings was THE source for old car parts and services. 100's of independent Ford parts obsolete dealers advertise in Hemmings. It's one of those sellers that will prolly have to brackets you need

I believe I also have an extra set of the brackets. Email me at rswhitmore@yahoo.com and let me know if you are interested in them, and I will 'dig them out' and send you some pictures. Bob
