Hello all,
Looking for a bit of help. Just had a Vortech SC installed and my installer says the Diablo sport programmer that came with the kit will not recoginze it.
Anyone reccomend a programmer that will work with a SC..
So your saying your SC came with the Diablo programmer and it won't recognize it? I would take it back and makem' give me another that does work with it.
I would still take it back, that's like selling you rims for a Chevy for your truck, it does no good. Your installer needs to find you a programmer to match, not you. Plus if he sold it to you, he owes you a refund for not getting the correct SC.
The first clue should of been with the fact they don't make one for an 06 Expy yet. If the manufacturer doesn't make one, what makes you think someone else does?
I understand your trying to make this work, but take heed in what I've said. Have you tried calling Diablo about this? They would be your best source.
a. I didn't want a whipple.
b. Vortech is much better
c. Diablo promised a program back in April , in a couple weeks. It is now July and still nothing.
I know I can use another programmer I just need to know one that works with a SC
I think I may have found one in "sniper tuning"
So are you done berating me, and actually make a suggestion for a programer that works? Or stand by your return the already installed SC?
If you don't see I'm trying to be logical toward you, then I can't berate someone who bought something made for something else knowing it may not work. Your asking people here about info on another programmer you say you know works, but you don't have it. I'm trying to be logical to the point that you may screw something up with your vehicle without the proper device.
Yes the 150 and the Expy are brothers, but they do have different functions and require different input.
...and yes I stand by my return the already installed SC until the correct one for your vehicle comes out. If your going to stick with this SC, then I wish you the best of luck in finding that programmer.
If your going to stick with this SC, then I wish you the best of luck in finding that programmer.
Which is exactly why I asked for help.
Not going to retutrn it... to much time invested... Wasn't just a SC install, had my whole truck customized, engine, audio, video, interior... And they spent a week on the SC, since it was an F150 kit, some brakets and such had to be moved, or fabricated.
I know there are plenty of programmers out there. Diablo is draggin their feet big time on a programm that was promised back in April, which is why we went ahead with the install.
I don't even have my car back, as the installer needs to take care of this problem first. I'm just helping with research. So, nothing's getting broken, it's not being driven. Just sitten there in the garage waiting on a few other items first.
SO, I came here looking for other ford expy owner that may have had experience with an SC and another programmer. But, you're only agruement is, the installer should have known better, and just return it. But, I can't really return something I don't have.
So, I'd really appreceiate it if you know of a programmer that works, then let me know. If your going to stick with your original arguement, I'd ask you to not add anything. I understand your point. And, if this was a hack and slash install in which the isntaller just threw something in, then said, good luck programming it... well yea, then your point is valid... return it. But, in my case, the installer is doing all he can to make it work...
I think its cool your doing all this, it'll probably be a badass ride when done. But most all devices such as SC's are program specific (I speak from experience about programs). Contact Diablo and see if they can assist you with this directly, you can't lose anything by trying that.
