On the dashboard my brakelight comes on and is now staying on. The emergency brake is not on nor any tail lights to indicate my brakes might be on.
Could this be a short somewhere?
Thanks in advance
Tracie
Check the brake fluid level. If it's full, tap on the side of the resivour. The floating switch may be stuck, telling you that you're fuid level is low.
This happened to me too, rear pads were so low it was giving a false reading since it was triggering the e-brake sensor. i would get your rear brakes looked at ASAP.
These are both good ideas. Find the problem before you drive! You can safely ignore the ABS light but not the standard brake light. If the e-brake is off, the light means you have low brake fluid preasure. You could easily be putting yourself or others in danger.
I took the truck to Les Schwab, they said they brakes looked fine. The sensor by the side of the oil underneath hood was ok
The day before I took it to LesSchwab, I was on a really steep hill and pushed in the ebrake as far as I could to really let go. I mean release it good and well. I had done this many times before thinking that might have been the problem
The display came off and was not showing when I went to Les Schwab.
