My thoughts/ suggestions are to keep a camcorder or something to record video with in the vehicle and when said cop pulls you over tell him that this is being recorded and for him to proceed. They usually leave it alone after that just for fear of screwing something up because it's on tape. It can also be used as proof for harrassment. I have been pulled over for some dumb stuff before in my mustang, cop said I didn't have enough tread left on my rear tires..d.o.t. legal drag radials. I asked him to check them with a tread depth gage....he said just replace them and left. I never did but he didn't bother me for a while. I have several friends that are cops and or military police and most are actually pretty good guys but just like anything else there are the bad apples in the barrel that ruin the whole thing.

that cam corder thing is useful but you MUST tell them their being recorded, or else its extremely illegal and borderline blackmail
Man I used to get pulled over all the time for stupid stuff. My parents thought it was funny because it happened to them we chaulked it up to being a "new" driver. That was the other thing in BC we have to display a bright 4'x6' green "N" when driving. I swear they are nothing but a bright green target. And my first car was a Chevy Sprint w/ 200k on the clock so it was really low on power. A little loud because it need new exhaust but nothing too bad. So I really couldn't screw around. Anyways...
I when camping one weekend with my family and about 20 friends it was our yearly bash. And tuesday morning a cop calls and starts yelling at me saying " we got reports of "ripping around on Saturday night , causing a bunch of trouble". He said I was going to lose my license, and that's thing he would give me a ticket without seeing me with his own eyes. Happened to alot of people; new and experiened drivers. Anyways, I just started to laugh, he freaked starting swearing and threatening me and such. I told him that either he was lying or his "witness(es)" were because my car and I were at the lake on Saturday and that I had 20 "witnesses" of me own. Handed the phone over to my Mom she yelled and threatened him. THE COPS DIDN'T STOP until... my then 67 year old Grandmother hobbled herself to the station and told the supervisor that if they didn't stop she would slap all their faces. Never got pullover ever agin. Gotta love my Granny.
