I think the horns have there place. I was driving one day with my window down and some PINHEAD had them mounted on the sides of his vehicle and blasted it when he got next me. I am 38 years old and only jerked my head to the side and was able to get a finger up! However what if it was my elderely Dad or Mother driving and they jerk the wheel???? I was on a busy Interstate, if I woulda freaked, there would of been a massive car pile up and innocent people injured or possibly killed! Chew on that and see how it tastes! However for the PINHEAD blocking the road or intersection, I completely feel that the horn is needed.
Those clips were pretty funny. If I was one of the bystanders on the road hearing that, it would scare the hell out of me, then laugh because it actually wouldn't be a train ready to plow into me. However, there is really nothing to joke around about with a train horn. It's all fun and games, but I hope those people who have them don't do anything stupid with it like blasting it trying to cause someone to slam on their brakes or swerve on the road. Or blast it around actual triain tracks. That could really scare people and if you do have a heart condition, cause some unpleasant side effects.
I think they have their place. Could have used one just yesterday for the no drivin bozo who needed some encouragement to speed up. Or the rubber neckin zipperhead who was going about 20 in a 45 looking at an ambulance parked at a convenience store. Got him with my car horn, but ohhhhh baby what a train horn would have done! So, yes, I think they are "encouraging"
