does anyone out there have any suggestions as far as parts for the 5r110 trany. i have seen ats, banks, level ten, bd, etc. im looking for a tq converter, beter clutch packs, just beefing it up in general. any and all input is welcome. thanks in advance.
thanks, i took a look ay the suncoast website. it looks to me like the superduty rebuild kit is the way to go. but the shift kit seems kinda cheezy to me. is there no valve body replacement like the other tranys i see out there? or is this the way all the companies are doing the t-shift. i have heard nothing but good things about suncoast, so it cant be too bad. also, does anyone know if the converter is a lockup converter?

Go with the extremeduty rebuild kit. It is just a half step above the superduty kit actually. It also wouldn't hurt to get the billet input shaft while you're there. The kit also comes with an upgraded snap ring to go in the case that prevents case blow out if the factory snap ring fails (it's really thin comparatively). They send new solenoids for the valve body, but there's really nothing else to do there. You might research the screen that goes in around the valvebody to protect the solenoids from extremely fine particles that usually cause them to fail. The factory convertor is a lockup convertor as is the suncoast. It's computer controlled by the TCM
thats what i thought, but looking at the site, they have the super kit listed for $350 more than the extreme kit, and it comes with more parts (solenoids, bypass filter, etc.). unless they miss labeled the kits. i was leaning towards the billet shaft as well, and am going to go with the deep sump pan.
Level Ten has a kit that i saw in Diesel Power Magazine that has new clutches, power solinoid, billet torque convertor, and a shift kit. Just throwing that out there. I have also heard alot of good things about suncoast
