What year is your truck ? I'd be curious as to how the install goes. So be sure to post if you will. Mine is an early '99 and I understand it requires some grinding or tubro removal... So I am curious..

I've had my CCK in about 3 months now and no issues. Very good materials. Best advice I can give is to have some help. I did the install by myself and it just would have been much faster to have another set of hands.

Mine has been in since mid-March (4 months now) - running great. Several tips....

1. One thing to be careful of is being careful to not allow the hoses to twist when you're tightening them. It doesn't take very much of this "twist" to create a kink in the hose, especially the longer one on the driver side.

2. As you take apart the fittings for the installation, do so over a cleared off table top so you can catch and find any parts that drop out (like the rubber compression sleeves in the fittings for the stock fuel lines. I inadvertantly lost one of mine and had to spend a couple of hours on the road from place to place looking for an alternative replacement.

3. The hoses are high quality and very stiff. When getting ready to insert them into the push-lok fittings, heat up the hose quite a bit with a hair drier or heat gun first (be very careful to not burn the hose). Otherwise, getting the hoses completely up on the push-lok barb is a real PITA.

I could only wish.......lmao......thats one reason I'm cautious.....
I live alone, have big hands and belly.....This sounds like a more than 6 pack job...And another reason I haven't done the in tank mods...I can just see myself lowering the tank by myself....I'd end up under it at some point....

Hey Robert, you really should consider doing the "in-tank" mods at the very least. Run the tank until its almost empty and it really isn't that bad. I did it on my own, just used a cheep transmission jack to lower and raise the tank. I'd rather crawl under my truck any day as opposed to doing gymnastics in the engine compartment. The in-tank mods made the most dramatic difference to the smoothness and quietness of my truck.

If you have a floor jack and a piece of plywood that is about 18" x 36", it is a very manageable task to remove and reinstall the tank. Just make sure that you have it near empty, and then you can disconnect the discharge tubing off the stock pump, run a jumper wire from the battery with an inline fuse as a temporary (and protected) power lead to the pump, and pump the rest of the tank empty. Then you can handle the tank very easily.

#3.... Pete, I think since you got the Beta kit that it may not have been pre-assembled. My Kit came completely assembled and was (over simplification warning.) cut return line, remove some crap in the way, and tie into fuel rails.(over simplification warning removed)

Be sure to mark with a sharpie the position of the compression nuts on the Fuel bowl, and also the depth of the hard line through the compression fitting on the FPR. Hint... the hard return line does not bottom out in the FPR. Ask Rampage he burned up a fuel pump by bottoming out his line.

Brandon... you're right and you're wrong. I was right and wrong as well.

After reading your post, my memory improved a bit. The Beta kit I received actually did come preassembled. What I was remembering was the oil bypass kit I received from OilGuard... it was not pre-assembled since they were not sure of where I would be making my filter mount. That was where i discovered that push-lok connnections can be a PITA. Conversely, when I got my in-tank kit from ITP, that was when I discovered that well-heated hose is what keeps the push-lok fittings from being a PITA.

Haha... I must be gaining ground because my mods are beginning to run together in my mind.

Well, there you go. PMS has taken a new symptom, Short term Memory Loss. Oh, Yeah I forgot that already was a symptom. " No, Honey, I don't remember ordering that new set of injectors, but, since they're here I might as well install them."

ROFLMAO!!!

I've got to add that one to my long medical description of PMS that I sometimes post for newbies. Good one, Brandon.

Be careful with the bolt holding the tensioner on. I rounded that puppy off and had to install the passenger port line without being able to remove the AC bracket. A real test in manual dexterity -- trust me...

LMAO......All I've read about this "cck mod", grinding to make the connection, rounding off bolts, marking the fittings, and all, I may just put up with the crakle.. Sometimes it seems the cure is worse than the problem.. And then does it really work ??
I can see the HPX mod, hutch and harpoon in my future but I'm
can't see CCK... But that's just me... I can find something funny in anything, especially me under the hood, on my stool, for hours...
That's why I enjoy it here...
