Anyone have any experience with Lucas Products? I use it in my old lawnmower but have wondered if i should use it in my truck. The heavy duty oil stabilizers says to use it in a 25% mixture with my oil. Also it says that i can use it straight in my differentials without adding limited slip. I have the V10 engine if it matters. I always thought of this product as a way to save an engine but my friend with 250,000 miles on his v10 uses it every oil change and swears by it....Any comments?
i use it religeously in every thing i own including my o2 psd my mud bogger and my beater 87 bronco 2 that has 300k i love it but thats just my opinion
I used to use it in my 79 and 89 with mobil 1 oil. It slowed the leaks considerably. You will most likely need LS additive any way. So far my Royal Purple hasn't needed any additive, but this is the first fluid I have encountered that doesn't.
I did an oil change on my 01 PSD a while back. I used Lucas oil additive. I went up north and had a problem with it starting and running (loping. it scared the CRAP out of me!!! middle of nowheresville, truck wouldnt run right, just enough money for my trip and not much for repairs........). When I got back, I checked this site and found out that adding Lucas oil additive was one of the worse things I can do to ANY PSD due to the HEUI injector design. Any other engine, I use the stuff and I love it!!! I recommend it to everyone.
So in my 01 F250 With 125,000 miles who would recommend me using it every oil change? I dont burn a drop of oil without it and am afraid if i start using it im always have to use it.
so all in all. in a 5.4 is there any chance this product will harm the motor? i run 10-30 royal purple to begin with and burn about a quart or more every 1k miles.
