Engine dies when check engine light comes on
I have a 2000 f-250 super duty 7.3 diesel w/ approx 115k miles. The only thing not stock is the K&N filter I have in the stock air box. I have never had any issues with the truck until today. Driving along and the engine died when the check engine light came on. Turning it off got the light to clear and truck could restart. I could drive 100 feet or so and scenario would repeat. Long tow to nearest shop to get error read and I just had to pay for my kids first semester at college!! Any ideas? Thanks in advance. - Jeff
