There are a couple of things. First I believe but do not quote me on this, the code is located behind the interior trim panel on one of the rear quarter sections. I would like to say it is the driver side, but again not absolutely sure. If you can not find the code printed on the vehicle, you can try and track down what dealership the vehicle was originally sold from. Once you track them down, give them a call and see if the person who handles the key codes written on books might have jotted down the key pad code for that vehicle. Last but surely not cheap, your closest Ford dealership can always put the vehicle on their diagnostic machine and discover what the code is, for what ever they charge these days, normally around $100.00. I hope this information is helpful.
Find the Computer Module, it should be located behind the jack door in the drivers side rear compartment. The Computer Module is mounted in that compartment and has a sicker on it that has the 5 digit code. $35 is still $35. Its still a rip off for the dealer to charge for this. When I got my 2000 the dealer wanted $100 to get me the code. Once you have the master code then you can change it something you can remember easily. Do you have the owner's manual?
