I recently upgraded my Explorers stock front rotors and brake pads to EBC rotors and pads. After installing the units, I took the Explorer for a drive, but now when I'm at the point of coming to a complete stop, the ABS system kicks in and is pushing the steering to the left. Does anyone know why this is happening? The truck never did anything like this before.
Check to make sure none of your ABS stuff got disconnected in the swap. I had a similar problem the first time I had brakes done on mine, something in the ABS got disconnected.
Also, your new rotors are set up for ABS, right? (There'll be a ring with teeth on the inside (spindle side) of the rotor for that.) The earlier Explorers with rear only ABS didn't have that "teeth" ring.
My '94 Explorer is having the same problem.. got the front rotors replaced, ever since, making a groaning noise and brake is pulsating on 70% stops just as i am coming to a complete stop (ABS kicking in).
was this the solution or have u found another one?
