460 cooling system
i recently purchased a 460 to replace a bad 300 six in my 86 f150. on examination, i found the heads had a water outlet on the back of each head. they had been welded shut by the previous owner. does anyone know the purpose of these outlets, and what if any negative effects this block off will cause? any help is appreciated. dan

Thats what they are smog pump holes.
I closed my off also( no emissions pump).
