sled pulling

our local tractor club (www.crossroadsofdixie.com) is having our annual pull in about a month. we usually have a street leagal/stock truck class. i thought about putting my ride in and see what she'll do. ive never pulled before so i was wondering things like what gear would be best, hi range or lo range, what sorta things do i need to look out for on the truck so i dont break anything?

P.S. ill be glad when i can ad.d a signature so i aint gotta type my truck info all the time .

my local pull is this comin saturday, i want to pull so bad but i have no ft diff right now, from what i here though its low range and let the autos go.
i need ladder bars to prevent my axle twist, i get horrible shudder in 1st gear up to 20 mph, so if i sled i would definatly bust a shaft, most guys add a suspension stop to the rear so you dont bottom out when 33,000 lbs or so gets dropped on the springs, my 4.10's in low should be ok for a stock class, some of the nuts go into the 5:13 range when you get into the crazy dirt tires though, but thats way too much for my rig, my optimum gear with 35's is a 4.56 gear but i like my highway ride, on 35's a 4.10 rear rides like 3.55's but still pulls excellent.
chronic explosions come from high egts's, wheel hop, constant up-down shifts, axle twist, spring flex.
oh and my local is http://www.buckmotorsports.com/
