I bought a 2005 f150 5.4 l a few days ago and has 25000 miles. I noticed it has a slight knock only when engine is warmed up not when it is cold. What could it be and should I worry about it? I dont hear anything when going on throttle. It also has a little engine wobble, thats what I call it anyway. It almost feels like a miss but it is not. You can feel it in the cab and when you drive. Not horrible im just a little concerned. I thought it might be the big engine or the engine mounts? Maybe thats how they all are. Im just used to driving a 78 ford f150. Thanks for any help!!!
Could be the cam phase sensors. Do a search on this forum under "cam phase sensor", cam phaser". There is a TSB (#06-4-7) that pertains to this. Does it sound like a diesel? If you have a bad cam phase sensor(s) it will sound like a diesel "knock", not like a "tick". This knock is usually only heard after the engine has warmed up and the oil has thinned out, and usually is not heard above 1K RPM.
It does not sound like a diesel, It is pretty minor. Im more concernd about the wobble that I feel. You can see the engine make like a slight movement almost like it is the engine mounts. When it makes a slight movement that is when you feel it. Is that normal.

The slight knock when cold is fairly common and not a concern. The cam phaser is am easy diag. The "wobble" with no engine light suspect an injector again an easy diag.
