mass air flow

How can I tell if I have a mass air flow in my truck...I have a 94 F-150 with a 5.8Ltr engine, auto tranny......thanks

mass air flow


I'm almost positive that your truck does. Look for an aluminum sensor in the big hose going from the air cleaner to the throttle body on the engine. It's actually spliced into the hose. It got three wires going into it. If you've got one of these, it's a mass air system.

You sure can. K&n Filterchargers are good. They fit just like the original and they're reusable too. You can also get some elements that clamp right to the end of the mass airflow sensor, but I personally think that it's a better idea to leave the original intake box in place to capitalize on the cool, fresh air being pulled in from in front of the radiator. With an open element, you're sucking hot air out from behind the radiator. Cooler, denser air = more horsepower
