FarmForward, hahaha...I remember in jr. high, there was a kid (farmer, FFA), who had the ultimate, textbook farmer's tan. The back of his neck was totally red, his face and arms below the short-sleeve line were combo red/tan, and the rest of him (hey, he was in my gym class) was blindingly white.

Well, I have a "modified" farmer tan... arms tanned from the short sleeve line to the wrist only. Gloves keep the backs of my hands pretty white, and since I got my ears and neck sunburnt once and found out that I did'nt care for it at all, when the sun's gonna be beating down on me outside, I wear a straw cowboy hat to keep my head and neck in the shade. I'll even admit to a bottle of sunscreen in the glove compartment of my truck! Not that I use it much... but it helps cool the burn when my arms get a bit too red.
As for a "shorts tan"... sorry, not gonna happen to me. Never have worn shorts, and don't see the need to begin now.

Right now I'm pretty much white except my arms. I had a little farmers tan going but then I wore a tank top last week and it evened out a little more. But now I have a funny U shaped tan on my chest area. Oh well I guess. At least 'the girls' finally saw some sun this year
