Was wheel offset changed in 2005?

Looking for a definitive answer...I've searched the forum and found conflicting opinions [I know the F250/350 changed in 05].

Specifically I'm asking if current factory Super Duty 20" wheels will fit the 2005 Excursion?

Thanks for any help.

The wheel offset only changed for the Super Duty. Anything that fit PRE-05 Super Dutys will fit the Excursion. The wheels in question WILL NOT fit unless you use a spacer.

I have them on my X, but you have to use an adapter. That was a pain in the ***, but I have them on now. Unless you can do some light machine work, make sure you buy a adapter for your application. Problem is....... the off set is 1" different with a 1" adapter you wont have enough stud length to bolt them on. I used 1.5" but then the stock studs are too long so I had to cut them down. Then the adapter's I purchased the studs on them were too short for the wheels. So I had to machine down the holes they were in and set the studs deeper so they were long enough. If I had known this before I purchased I would have spent the extra money and just gotten a better adapter. Oh also the ford wheels are hub centric, means they center themselves on the hub. Well the adapets dont have that hub, so I had to machine bushings to fit over the studs and thin enough that the wheel would still fit on the stud and only deep enough that they would not stick out past the rim surface. Had to do that or the wheel would vibrate becasue it would be centered. Whewwwww. see what I mean, would have saved me a ton just spending the money on better adapters or heck just buying an aftermarket wheel. But I like to ford 20"s. They look stock. I hope this helps.
oh and my X is an 05.

Jimmy...how 'bout some pics? I, too, like the look of Ford's 20's. I like the mixing of OEM stuff on models. For others who may want to follow your lead, what brand adapter would you recommend to them?
