starter switch
my truck won't crank with the key & I'd like to fix that. I think that theres a bad wire here, the switch on the lower column that sends power to the solinoid, is the lowest wire the one that activates the starter?

A common problem is the mechanical link up inside the column that activates the rod to the switch. If you take the column shrouds off, and look at the top of the column right before it goes under the cluster, you will see the rod. Hook the start wire back up to the ignition switch(if it was disconnected, should be red/blue wire) and turn the key to run. Then get some pliers and grab the rod on top of the column, and "help" the rod by pushing it down. If it starts cranking, then I bet the piece in the column is broken.

nope the link is fine replaced it 2 years ago when I turn the key to run the gp's come on & I get power to the fss & the cold idle solinoid so the link is still good tried adjusting the switch so that the rod travels full length both ways. I just think that the wire is bad between the switch & the solinoid. but my diagram is not clear which wire it is I think it's the lowest wire on the switch?
