In either an old issue of super ford or mm& ff there was a short peice on a 400 that had a stock 5.0 upper & lower adapted to it with a pair of simple aluminum plates. The water passage issues were taken care of in the way mentioned above & the same way as mentioned in Ford Racing Perf Parts/Motorsports catalogs since they first started publishing.
You might try doing an e-bay search for BA Performance. One of their old sqr bore manifolds with an throttle body elbow to Std Holley adaptor could work.
Would be an interesting project. Go for it if you have the time, money & paitence.
You can check http://www.pricemotorsport.com/ for the afor mentioned adaptors if interested. they also have lots of other cool stuf there, it really might be worth a look.
djdemon, you can put cleveland heads on a windsor block but it is not a simple bolt-on task...there are a couple of water passages that have to be plugged or something along those lines. There's a Clevor thread in the small block forum farther down the main page that should be able to give all the details on what is involved with fitting cleveland heads on a windsor block.
there's an article by HOT ROD mag. that shows step by step on how to put 351M/400 heads on a small-block...no **** and it also involves drilling and blocking various coolant passages, I can't remember what month or even what year...but it was probly 20yrs ago...they ended up with a real wicked engine for the street
and for those who don't know the 351 c/351m/400m are all in the 335 engine family the m block is just a big brother to the 351c with a 1.091 inch taller deck height so heads, oil pans, oil pumps are interchangeable. you'll that don't know much about the 335 family should check this out http://home.earthlink.net/~bubbaf250...history03.html .
You can check http://www.pricemotorsport.com/ for the afor mentioned adaptors if interested. they also have lots of other cool stuf there, it really might be worth a look.
That is truly a NEAT site with some great products.
I haven't seen the clevland "high-port" mods since Gapp&Roush days.
If you want to do something unique, buy some of these folks' products & keep them in bid'ness. They deserve some support.
