So I went to clean my ebs tube 1/2 hour ago took everything apart OMG it was clogged from the sensor all the way down the bracket to the tube. Suprisingly the tube was only gummed up but not clogged. When I say clogged I mean like someone packed it with soot. Like going to 31 flavors and getting your favorite quart, or going to San Francisco and......well nevermind that, I need to go get carb cleaner or something to flush that baby out. I think I may have found the MPG bug in my truck
What ia a EBS tube and where 8is it located? I don't mean to sound dumb just wanted to know so I can check mine.
Thanks
he means the EBPS ( exhaust back pressure sensor) it sits just behind the belt right below the HPOP on the front of the engine.. there is a wire going to the top of the sensor and a steel brake line going to the bottom of it..by the front passenger side tire..look though the inner fendor...look into the front part of the exhaust manifold and you will see the brake line sticking out and going up to that sensor..
yeah they can become pretty dirty ...one of the first things i did when i joined the site ... found mine had a hole inthe line and the sensor filled with soot ...cleaned and replaced and i got a bit better mileage ...
I used guzzles write up made it very easy, once again a great help. When I took the sensor off I thought I broke something, it was sooo packed with soot it looked like I split it in 2. After checking guzzles write up I realized that it should be clear all the way through.....
Thats what mine was like, that sensor went into the garbage along with the line since i try to clean the line a long time ago and it broke so i made a new one, and the sensor always pulled a code, so that just got replaced. No codes nemore.
You can usually buy one size (unless you have your heart set on the whole set )-- I did that for my Mustang's headers. There was just no way to get to a couple of the bolts (once it was in the car) otherwise...
